Pump tracks are typically shorter and narrower than BMX race tracks with a circuit of rollers, berms and jumps designed to keep riders going. They are a great place to start building up BMX bike skills and the tracks can also used by skateboards, rollerblades, scooters and mountain bikes.

Perfect for practising, pump tracks are safe to ride and fun for all ages and all abilities. They have become an increasingly popular budget option for schools, sports centres, BMX clubs and even private individuals. Pump tracks are appearing in public parks, playing fields, on waste ground and even in people's back gardens. Not only do they build up users self confidence riding skills, but they are also an excellent way to promote health and fitness with numerous proven physical and mental benefits for the end users.

Pump Track Design

Good pump track design enables the rider to 'pump' the bike forwards without using the pedals. Pump tracks are typically one to two metres wide and will include a variety of jumps and berms.

The track is often contoured to fit the lie of the land and it can blend in with the landscaped to look aesthetically pleasing. Options can include tarmac or block paved surfaces, limestone dust or bound track There is a wide variety of drainage solutions to suit each individual site, location and budget.

The build time for Clark & Kent Contractors usually depends on the location and type of track layout. All pump tracks designed and built by Clark & Kent Contractors are fully compliant with health and safety standards as set out by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
