Tollerton pump tack was constructed after a need for a new cycling facility for the local community. This rural village is set in beautiful countryside and woodland and made the perfect setting to install an organic look-and-feel multi-wheeled pump track for the locals to enjoy.
Pump track pre-construction preparation included fencing and securing the site, installing control measures for pedestrian access with added safety signage, setting out with the client and engineer and tree protection and root protection measures.
Track construction work involved marking and setting out, site strip and clearance, the storage of arising material and importation of other material, extensive drainage, sub-base, tarmac surfacing, concrete, and a landscape turfing scheme. We also supplied and installed permanent user signage at the track.
The construction period was four weeks, and the project was completed on time and within budget for Tollerton Parish Council. Tollerton is situated in the Vale of York. 10 miles North of York and five miles South of Easingwold. It is a rural village with approximately 400 houses and a population approaching 1,000. Tollerton has many amenities that make it a great place to stay.
