The existing limestone dust-surfaced pump track at Bromham, Wiltshire, was an ageing track and had become a liability. The local parish council felt the need for repairs to keep it in a safe, useable condition.

After consulting with Clark & Kent about pump track rebuilding options, they chose to give it a new lease of life and great longevity with the application of an all-weather tarmac overlay. This is an increasingly common option for councils looking to reinvest in their existing BMX track rather than installing a completely new facility. The overlay option not only gave us the chance to enhance the features but also future-proof the track for many years to come.

The last picture shows the work in progress; after the grass was cut, we recut the track edges and started the removal of all the organics from the footprint. Any reshaping or track changes are done at this stage and compacted in layers before the application of the weed suppressant permeable membrane. This is the final process before the tarmac is laid, ensuring a long-lasting and perfectly smooth riding surface for the local community to enjoy for many years.

The project was completed in under a week with all works carried out by our in-house team with over 50 years of collective experience in mini-wheeled projects.
