Telford National BMX Track, Shropshire

Kier Construction, one of the largest construction companies operating in the UK, selected Clark & Kent for this prestigious project. Before this, Clark & Kent had been involved in the design process, working closely alongside consultants and architects to maximise the use of space on the small site. Working from the formation level, Clark & Kent undertook the care of every aspect of the build, including:

Earthworks
A comprehensive drainage scheme.
Formation
Sub-base surfacing
Specialist asphalt surfacing
Full landscaping.

Clark & Kent also supplied and installed wooden spectator fencing to ROSPA standards and finally completed a bound surface car park area that was machine-laid to achieve the highest levels of quality.

Since installation, participation levels for BMX in the Telford area have risen dramatically, and the facility has successfully hosted many significant race events. The BMX track continues to go from strength to strength.

The track in Dawley is part of the Phoenix Academy, which now has national and regional standard facilities for many sports. The 390-metre BMX track includes an elite section for professional riders and a development track for young children and novices.
