Clark & Kent Contractors were brought in to create new dirt jumps for the Ride UK BMX Dirt competition at the 2011 Relentless National Adventure Sports Show (NASS) Festival in Somerset.
We were working to a predetermined brief, so it was up to Clark & Kent to implement the design which entailed setting out the groundworks, using specialist surfacing and material compaction.
Unlike a typical BMX track build up, the Dirt Jumps are constructed using one core of material which was specially brought onto the site just for the competition.
Upon completion of the construction phase of the dirt track Clark & Kent assisted with start ramp fabrication, building and erection to give an event-ready facility in time for the weekend festival.
During the competition stage, we were on hand to provide all the necessary maintenance and service requirements.
This included compaction and reshaping of the jumps in the ever-changing environment as competition dirt track events proceeded.
The build time was very quick, just four days on site at The Royal Bath & Western showground to get the dirt track ready for competition and the course was made ready in time for a brilliant weekend of racing.
American BMX Pro, Kevin Peraza, finally took the victory and the title of British Dirt Jumping Champion 2011.
